The spectacular
Pavilion Centre on the Royal Cornwall Showground is nearing
completion and will be officially opened on the second day
of the forthcoming Royal Cornwall Show (June 5-7) by Her
Royal Highness The Princess Royal. A plaque of Cornish granite, to commemorate the opening, has been specially made by Cornish craftsman Christopher Wearne of Frederick Wearne and Sons, based near Helston. It has been delivered to the showground and will be installed, ready for the unveiling, over the next two weeks. Billed as a venue for business and pleasure, the Pavilion Centre has been designed to meet the needs of gatherings from 10 to 300-plus people. It is flexibly designed to accommodate conferences, lectures and business meetings as well as parties, presentations and dinner-dances. Lauren Menzies, the conference and banqueting manager, is in the process of planning an official launch of the centre to local businesses and organisations. The launch will take place shortly after the Royal Cornwall Show and will be the start of real business for the centre. Lauren said: “Word is already getting around and bookings are coming in right up into next year. Once people see the facilities here they are bound to be impressed.” The Pavilion Centre has fully-equipped professional-standard kitchens, wifi and state of the art audio and video facilities.
